Incident Response Principal Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee incident response engagements

• Create and implement innovative methods to identify malicious actors within extensive data sets

• Execute intrusion investigations under the guidance of external legal counsel

• Conduct host and/or network-based forensic investigations across Windows, Mac, and Linux systems

• Carry out fundamental malware analysis

• Generate high-quality written and verbal reports, presentations, recommendations, and findings for customer management, regulators, and legal advisors

• Exhibit industry thought leadership through blog contributions, CrowdCasts, and various public speaking engagements

• Lead teams and engage with clients

• Safeguard organizations against sophisticated attackers through CrowdStrike Services engagements

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in one or more of the following: team leadership within a matrixed consulting framework; incident response; computer forensic analysis; network forensic analysis; reverse engineering; incident remediation; network operations and architecture/engineering; cloud incident response

• Proven experience in conducting or managing incident response investigations for organizations and probing targeted threats such as Advanced Persistent Threats, Organized Crime, and Hacktivists

• Background in utilizing various forensic analysis tools during incident response investigations

• Strong expertise in network protocols and network analysis tools like Bro/Zeek or Suricata

• Capability to analyze relevant network logs

• Proficiency in both static and dynamic malware analysis

• Comprehensive understanding of targeted attacks with the ability to develop tailored tactical and strategic remediation plans

• Robust knowledge of secure network architecture and experience in network operations

• Familiarity with incident response methodologies for AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Strong communication skills to convey executive and/or detailed findings to clients

• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance decision-making, optimize workflows and processes, increase efficiency, and drive business results

• Ability to execute technical tasks independently

• Eagerness to develop and enhance both technical and interpersonal skills

• Strong project management capabilities

• Recognized thought leader within the incident response sector

• Ability to cultivate a positive work environment and mindset

• Willingness to travel on short notice, up to 30% of the time

• BA or BS / MA or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience and/or training will be accepted in lieu of a degree
