• Oversee and coordinate software deployment initiatives across development, pre-production, testing, and production environments for VBA applications and systems.
• Keep continuous communication with VA Regional Offices and stakeholders about deployment timelines, release activities, outages, and implementation progress.
• Manage and coordinate monthly Integrated Releases utilizing ITIL service transition processes and ServiceNow (SNOW) for operational support, tracking, and reporting.
• Create, update, and monitor Release records within ServiceNow to guarantee accurate tracking and adherence to VA release management protocols.
• Associate and verify Change Requests within Release records to aid in the successful execution of deployments and governance requirements.
• Coordinate ASCEND release submissions and Change Requests to facilitate the Production Readiness Review Configuration Control Board (PRRCCB) processes and approvals.
• Evaluate software change requests and confirm the submission of Application Turnover Transmittal (ATT) documentation within Serena Business Manager (SBM) and related repositories.
• Ensure that deployment documentation, implementation plans, rollback procedures, and supporting artifacts are complete, precise, and compliant with operational standards.
• Coordinate pre-production installations to replicate Production deployments and support regression testing activities to reduce production release risks.
• Supervise installation and deployment activities during monthly integrated releases to ensure successful implementation of approved changes.
• Collaborate with development teams, testers, infrastructure support staff, and operational stakeholders to address deployment challenges and implementation risks.
• Utilize standard VA enterprise tools such as:
• ServiceNow (SNOW)
• Jira
• Power BI
• Dimensions
• Rational tools
• Serena Business Manager (SBM)
• Veteran-Focused Integration Process (VIP) tools
• Support process automation initiatives and workflow enhancements using SharePoint and related automation technologies.
• Implement operational and deployment process enhancements based on customer priorities, urgency, and enterprise standardization needs.
• Monitor deployment metrics, release status, and operational performance reporting.
• Engage in troubleshooting and issue resolution during deployment and transition activities.
• Maintain documentation related to release management, deployment procedures, operational processes, and implementation activities.
• Bachelor’s degree
• 4+ years of experience in deployment management, release management, change management, or IT operations support.
