This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee federal and state R&D tax credit claims, collaborating closely with the Practice Leader and multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct and facilitate client interviews to identify eligible activities and associated expenses.
• Take ownership of project execution: providing status updates, managing timelines, identifying technical issues, and overseeing deliverables.
• Gather, organize, and analyze extensive datasets to develop intricate calculation models and substantiate credit positions.
• Draft and/or review technical memoranda (including opinion letters, IRS responses, and ruling requests) while ensuring audit readiness.
• Mentor, train, and oversee junior team members; maintain consistent quality and adherence to best practices.
• Lead/support 179D deduction studies and 45L credit engagements (including eligibility, substantiation, and client-ready deliverables).
• Assist with the feasibility, implementation, and annual calculation/compliance deliverables for IC-DISC.
• Provide clients with support for Section 174 capitalization/amortization modeling and documentation.
• Manage and coordinate cost segregation and fixed asset/depreciation reviews (including placed-in-service, class lives, methods, bonus depreciation considerations, and reconciliation support).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; CPA or JD is advantageous.
• 4+ years of direct experience with R&D Tax Credits, including client interaction and engagement management (audit experience is a plus).
• Strong analytical, research, organizational, and project management abilities; adept at handling multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of translating technical concepts for client stakeholders.
• Proven leadership in managing people: training, supervising, and reviewing work to ensure quality.
• Bonus: practical experience with 179D, 45L, IC-DISC, 174 amortization, and/or cost segregation/fixed assets & depreciation.
