IMS Core Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze, prepare, implement, and verify the configuration and integration of a node, network, and/or system.

• Manage networks and nodes within the IMS domain for our 2.5G, 3G, and 4G networks.

• Utilize dashboards to swiftly identify issues and trends.

• Adhere to communication protocols during incident management.

• Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, security audits, and emergency response.

• Perform fault handling and corrective measures at the node, service, and infrastructure levels.

• Oversee project activities, implementing or adapting new IMS E2E service functionalities, nodes, and services.

• Cover the 7x24 monitoring shift responsibilities as required.

• Execute Wireshark tracing of critical infrastructure to diagnose issues.

• Provide insights, implement, and verify enhancements in processes and work instructions.

• Verify and implement configuration adjustments.

• Work towards identifying and driving improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the core network domain with mobile networks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication or Computer Science (post-graduate studies are advantageous).

• Proficient understanding of telecom networks such as 2G, 2.5G, 3G, and LTE.

• Strong conceptual grasp of IMS evolution and trends.

• In-depth knowledge of IMS network topology.

• Experience with various types of Core Nodes.

• Familiarity with SS7, ISUP, BICC, SIP, H248, Diameter signaling, and IMS protocol configuration changes.

• Operation and maintenance of IMS platforms for alarm and fault/abnormal condition management.

• Configuration preparation and implementation for IMS node change requests.

• Practical experience with sniffers, Wireshark, and advanced testing tools.

• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix-based systems.

• Understanding of 3GPP, ITU-T, and ANSI standards.

• Knowledge of roaming agreements and IR.21.

• Expertise in VoLTE troubleshooting and call trace analysis.

• Strong writing and documentation abilities.

• Adaptability and responsiveness to change.

• Ability to perform well under pressure.

• Proficient in English (both written and spoken).

• Willingness to work morning and afternoon shifts.

• Strong communication skills with external customers and internal teams.

• Over 2 years of scripting experience (Python, Bash, etc.).
