This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare and draft applications and petitions related to employment-based immigration cases, such as PERM, H-1B, L-1, Blanket L, and F visa matters.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships, collaborating with recruiting and HR on in-house immigration sponsorship evaluations.
• Provide guidance to the business and affected employees concerning employment-based immigration issues and visa applications.
• Address requests for additional information from USCIS and DOL.
• Maintain an extensive understanding of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
• Advise and consult with management and leadership regarding the effects on business practices, operational costs, and efficiencies.
• Develop policies and procedures for all phases of the immigration process, including internal case management.
• Analyze cases, formulate case strategies, and prepare employees for interviews, hearings, and trials.
• Communicate with employees during the intake process and maintain ongoing dialogue regarding active cases.
• Organize and manage case files systematically using a Case Management Platform.
• Fulfill annual performance review or goal-setting duties and undertake assigned special projects.
• Execute responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Juris Doctor degree.
• Active bar membership in good standing for any state within the United States or the District of Columbia.
• At least 6 years of experience in immigration law, ideally with in-house experience.
• Thorough understanding of U.S. immigration laws and regulations.
• Significant, high-quality experience advising stakeholders on immigration law matters.
• Strong project management abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
• Capability to work in an organized and disciplined manner.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Technical proficiency in MS Office Suite and Outlook.
• Clear, concise, thoughtful, and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Ability to interpret complex and evolving immigration laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
• Skill in assessing risk, identifying legal trends, and formulating strategic legal solutions.
• Sound legal judgment when under pressure.
• Proficient in evaluating legal options and devising creative solutions in complex or ambiguous circumstances.
• Precision and attention to detail in applications, contracts, petitions, and legal filings.
• Exercise discretion and empathy when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
• Ability to translate intricate legal concepts into practical business advice.
