IBM Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Oversee the quality of service for IBM Z operational processes through effective management of technology governance and operational maintenance (MCO).

• Assist the Tech Lead in overseeing service providers (managed services), assessing technical modifications, and enhancing cost efficiency (R4H).

• Spearhead transformation and continuous improvement initiatives for processes, collaborating with both technical and business teams.

• Examine incidents (production/test) and conduct technical reviews to pinpoint root causes and suggest corrective measures.

• Create clear and concise operational documentation and articulate complex issues in an understandable manner for stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree from an engineering school or a Master’s (Bac+5) in computer science, systems, or a related field.

• At least 7 years of experience as a system or production administrator on IBM Z, demonstrating expertise in project management and managing critical infrastructures.

• Strong knowledge of IBM Z mainframe components (z/OS, Sysplex, HCD, GDPS, RMF, WLM, etc.).

• Familiarity with zSeries servers (e.g., Z16), storage solutions (DS8800, VST7700), and observability tools (Grafana).

• Understanding of CICS environments, DB2 DataSharing, MQ Shared Queue, and monitoring tools (IBM OMEGAMON, Broadcom DBM).

• Capability to lead projects and generate technical documentation.

• Self-sufficiency, initiative, and a strong proactive approach to anticipate needs and suggest enhancements.

• Customer service orientation along with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with technical and business teams.

• A collaborative attitude to share knowledge and work towards common objectives.

• Professional proficiency in both French and English (written and spoken).
