• Direct the estimating team in addressing bid specifications, crafting scopes of work, generating cost estimates, and predicting project durations, including contingencies.
• Assess the quantity and type of materials necessary to fulfill the bid specifications.
• Deliver comprehensive project engineering and estimating labor.
• Support the sales team by participating in pre-bid meetings to facilitate the creation of precise cost estimates.
• Ensure that project completion aligns with bid schedules and deadlines.
• Serve as a bridge between sales, project management, and operations to ensure smooth project transitions and enhance communication.
• Suggest vendors and materials to achieve optimal solutions, competitive pricing, and appropriate lead times.
• Interpret and comprehend blueprints.
• Build and sustain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Acquire knowledge in other technologies as directed by client demands.
• Assist in product selection research, configuration standards, and best practices.
• Educate our sales teams on our offerings and services.
• Provide coaching, development, and guidance to direct reports and/or team members, motivating them to stay updated with emerging technologies.
• The individual in this role should be prepared and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics and/or the customer(s).
• A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• RCDD certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with general building codes and BICSI Standards.
• At least ten (10) years of experience in estimating large-scale (1M+) Data Center ISP/OSP construction projects.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a team of estimators or equivalent Low-Voltage engineering functions.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, with the skill to manage, train, mentor, and foster team development.
• Establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure effective communication and collaboration with Sales and Operations.
• Estimating structured cabling projects for Hyperscale clients, Co-Location Partners, and all Data Center-related opportunities.
• Experience with Auto CAD and Bluebeam.
• Advanced understanding of Division-27, ISP, and OPS standards.
• Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.), MS Project, and Auto CAD.
• Must possess the proven ability to design, engineer, estimate, and produce both written and graphic representations of the company's proposed solutions using the software resources provided by the company.
• Capable of understanding and accurately quoting every aspect of the structured cabling system, including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and interconnections, and testing.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints of building floor plans and construction designs.
• Knowledgeable about the data infrastructure industry, including technology, quality, and safety standards.
• Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
• Familiar with PMBOK Guides and Standards.
• Proven ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Capability to perform duties with professionalism and presentable appearance.
• Strong performance management skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting priorities as necessary.
• Capacity to work effectively under time constraints and adjust to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
