This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver essential engineering insights crucial to the development of new hydroelectric projects.

• Prepare and assess hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling for both new and existing hydraulic structures related to hydropower initiatives, evaluating potential impacts on navigation, scour, erosion, sediment transport, ice jams, hydraulic transients, and more, in compliance with USACE guidelines and other industry standards. This includes surface generation for the models mentioned.

• Contribute input to multidisciplinary project teams and senior stakeholders to influence design and critical business decisions.

• Assist in the design and configuration of hydraulic structures and water conveyance systems (e.g., layout of intake/tailrace channels, cofferdams, etc.).

• Provide support for other permitting modeling, including FEMA Flood Plain certifications.

• Aid in the development of physical modeling (conducted by others) of hydraulic structures by reviewing model development, calibration reports, test plans, and results.

• Assess storm water runoff requirements and slope protection needs.

• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications derived from hydraulic modeling.

• Create and present presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Offer services during construction phases, including submittal reviews, responding to Contractor’s requests for information, reviewing and approving change orders, and preparing record drawings.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, and structural engineers, to guarantee integrated project delivery.

• Conduct site inspections and evaluations to ensure adherence to design specifications.

• Develop and present technical reports and documentation to senior management and stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with a Professional Engineering (PE) license. Must also be eligible for registration in other states.

• At least 8 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in H&H modeling and strong project management capabilities.

• Proficient in software tools such as HEC-RAS, GEOHECRAS, Esri GIS Software, and Autodesk Civil3D.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently while performing effectively under pressure.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
