HVDC & FACTS Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide exceptional technical support by overseeing service contracts and coordinating site operations.

• Conduct commissioning activities on FACTS and HVDC equipment, aiding in successful energization and system handover.

• Direct and implement maintenance, onsite interventions, and technical support initiatives for FACTS and HVDC transmission systems.

• Work in partnership with end customers and internal teams to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of service tasks.

• Participate in and lead customer meetings, identifying technical solutions that meet operational requirements and enhance customer relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid technical foundation with site experience in switching equipment, harmonic filters, instrumentation transformers, and commissioning of protection relays.

• Hands-on knowledge of FACTS technologies (both thyristor- and IGBT-based), with familiarity with rotating machines viewed as a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot intricate systems utilizing network recorders, analyzers, and in-depth log/curve analysis.

• Strong EHS awareness with the commitment to strictly follow safety regulations, particularly during incidents or when under customer pressure.

• An engineering degree (or equivalent “house engineer” experience) in power electronics, along with practical experience in drives, FACTS, or HVDC systems.
