
HVAC Chiller Technician – Journeyman

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Engage in the startup and commissioning of new units, leveraging expertise to support a cutting-edge facility.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and carry out routine maintenance on heating and cooling systems.
• Analyze and interpret regulatory standards and technical documentation, including blueprints and schematics.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring prompt escalation of issues for resolution when necessary.
• Emphasize safety by complying with licensing regulations, operating equipment safely, identifying HVAC-related hazards, completing safety training, and implementing effective safety protocols.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• EPA Universal certification is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry.
• At least 3 years of experience working with centrifugal chillers.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and capable of standing, crawling, sitting, squatting, climbing ladders, and working on rooftops for extended periods.
• OSHA 30 Certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Experience with Carrier, Trane, and Diken Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Centrifugal Chillers is valued, but not required.
• Basic knowledge of building automation controls (BOMAC) is valued, but not required.
• Familiarity with data centers is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with Steam Turbines is valued, but not required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of ServiceMax is valued, but not required.
• Strong proficiency in 19XR, 30CF, and CDU chillers is valued, but not required.
• Understanding of air-side systems (constant volume, VAV) is valued, but not required.
• Knowledge of water-side systems (hot water, chilled water, condenser water) is valued, but not required.
• Medical insurance.

• Paid travel time after the first hour.
• Company-provided vehicle with gas cards.
• All necessary tools will be supplied.
• Steel-toed boots, Carrier-branded uniforms with FR protection, HVAC gloves, hard hats, and face shields provided.
• Standard safety goggles are supplied, with an option for prescription eyewear if needed.
• Fall protection is provided where necessary, along with respirators and earplugs as required.
