This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.
• Deliver swift deployment and in-country operational surge support during humanitarian crises, leveraging operational expertise to aid procurement, logistics, supply chain processes, and the establishment of emergency suboffices.
• Assist in the planning, execution, and conclusion of emergency operations by providing remote and onsite technical support, ensuring alignment with CRS standards, donor requirements, and best practices in humanitarian efforts.
• Aid in the establishment and functioning of relief delivery systems, tools, and operational procedures in active emergency situations.
• Offer operational support across human resources, finance, security, GKIM, administration, and fleet management, collaborating with relevant CRS technical and departmental leaders.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and foundational technical support to CRS personnel and local partners during emergency responses.
• Facilitate the delivery of operations-focused training sessions, briefings, and orientations for emergency staff and partners.
• Contribute to collaboration with local organizations and national and international CRS teams to enhance operational capacity for emergency responses.
• Assist in implementing humanitarian operations standards, tools, and guidelines for field operations and emergency supply chains.
• Help in the updates and distribution of tools and resources associated with the Emergency Field Operations Manual (EFOM).
• Support operational learning by documenting lessons learned, challenges faced, and best practices from emergency deployments.
• Assist with emergency budgeting, basic cost tracking, and ensure compliance with public donor regulations and operational requirements.
• Manage supply chain and accounting systems in new or rapidly changing emergency responses.
• Advocate for staff care, safety, and security practices in emergency settings.
• A graduate degree in international development or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 5 years of experience in supporting or managing humanitarian operations in the field.
• Proven field management experience with an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO).
• Experience in integrating cross-cutting themes such as protection, gender, capacity strengthening, and governance.
• Proficiency (both verbal and written) in English and at least one of the following languages: French, Portuguese, Spanish, or Arabic.
