This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Conduct research, development, and implementation of HR policies that comply with South African employment legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA, POPIA) while aligning with CCC's global business strategy.
• Oversee and enhance HR systems, strategies, and procedures within the South African entity.
• Manage the complete employment lifecycle in South Africa, from extending job offers to handling exits.
• Keep the South Africa Employee Policy Guide updated to reflect changes in legislation and business requirements.
• Analyze employee trends and offer data-driven recommendations to leadership for enhancing the employee experience.
• Handle employee relations issues, including grievances, performance-related matters, disciplinary actions, and terminations, in accordance with the LRA and CCC policy.
• Prepare necessary documentation and coordinate CCMA proceedings, conciliations, and arbitrations as needed.
• Supervise disciplinary hearings and investigations, ensuring adherence to procedural fairness and legal compliance.
• Act as the main advisor to managers regarding corrective actions, performance management, and fair labor practices.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a compliant Employment Equity Plan that aligns with the Employment Equity Amendment Act (effective January 2025) and relevant sector-specific numerical targets.
• Prepare and submit annual EEA2 and EEA4 reports to the Department of Employment and Labour.
• Coordinate the submissions of the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) to the appropriate SETA.
• Manage Skills Development Levy (SDL) responsibilities and coordinate with SETA for levy grant recovery.
• Lead BBBEE-related HR data collection, recordkeeping, and reporting to support the company's transformation goals.
• Ensure compliance of all employee data processing activities with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
• Maintain POPIA-compliant employee records, including documentation of consent, data retention schedules, and protocols for secure destruction.
• Serve as an escalation point for employee queries and concerns regarding data privacy.
• Design and implement employee engagement programs specific to South Africa in collaboration with the local leader, including budget oversight.
• Organize SA Town Halls, US leadership visits, and Forum operations, managing content creation and logistical support.
• Manage the South African market page on CC Connect and oversee South African-specific communications.
• Serve as the primary contact for South African staff communications and local inquiries.
• Promote and continuously enhance the South African onboarding program, ensuring new employees understand their roles, CrossCountry culture, and local practices.
• Facilitate local access provisioning and logistics for new employees (e.g., Workshop17 setup, equipment).
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in an HR Manager or senior HR generalist role.
• Comprehensive, practical knowledge of South African labor legislation: LRA, BCEA, EEA (including 2025 amendments), POPIA, and OHSA.
• Proven experience in managing CCMA matters through conciliation and arbitration processes.
• Practical experience with Employment Equity reporting (EEA2/EEA4) and WSP/ATR submissions.
• Strong background in employee relations and disciplinary hearings, ensuring both procedural and substantive fairness.
• Proficiency in HR systems and databases; experience with Workday is preferred.
• Exceptional communication, active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills demonstrated through the use of HR metrics to guide decisions.
• High attention to detail and the capability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Comfort with AI: Proven ability to responsibly explore and implement firm-approved AI tools to boost productivity and innovation.
