
Hourly Training Specialist – NAM Major Corrective

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide hands-on MCU training at wind sites and GE Vernova training facilities.
• Educate both internal and external technicians on the exchange of gearboxes, generators, and main bearings.
• Instruct on rigging techniques, crane interaction, lift planning, and management of heavy components.
• Train on auxiliary equipment, tools, torquing, alignment, critical tolerances, and verification processes.
• Mentor technicians during controlled training exercises and offer live execution support as necessary.
• Evaluate technician competency through direct observation, practical demonstrations, and assessments.
• Confirm technician readiness before their assignment to MCU projects.
• Maintain comprehensive training records, qualification matrices, and competency acknowledgments.
• Offer structured feedback and coaching to bridge skill gaps.
• Reinforce GE Vernova EHS standards and critical risk controls concerning heavy lifts, stored energy, and dropped objects.
• Ensure that training is consistent with OEM manuals, GE Vernova work procedures, and MCU execution standards.
• Assist in incident investigations by pinpointing training or competency deficiencies and suggesting corrective measures.
• Advocate for consistent quality execution and adherence to approved lift plans and procedures.
• Contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of MCU training materials, job aids, and standard work practices.
• Provide field insights to training and operations leadership regarding execution challenges and trends.
• Support compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal audit requirements related to training and qualifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with major wind turbine component upgrades.
• Proven experience in performing exchanges of gearboxes, generators, and/or main bearings.
• Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging, lift planning, and handling of heavy components.
• Capability to effectively train, coach, and assess adult learners in a field setting.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
• Prior experience in roles such as MCU Lead Technician, Foreman, or Supervisor is preferred.
• Experience in delivering hands-on technical or safety training is preferred.
• Familiarity with GE wind turbine platforms and tooling is preferred.
• Train-the-trainer or instructional certification is preferred.
• Experience in prevailing wage and/or union environments is preferred.
