Hospital Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as the main legal representative for designated California hospitals, offering daily legal guidance to hospital management and operational teams.

• Conduct research and assess federal and California healthcare laws and regulations to provide advice on regulatory compliance, operational legal challenges, and risk management strategies.

• Draft and review contracts, legal memoranda, policies, procedures, guidance documents, and training materials.

• Offer counsel on a wide array of healthcare regulatory and hospital operations issues, including patient care, licensing, accreditation, and medical staff matters.

• Manage legal issues independently while working in conjunction with the larger legal team on specialized or escalated concerns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active California Bar license.

• 5–8 years of legal practice experience.

• Experience in healthcare regulatory law, whether in-house or at a law firm.

• Prior experience providing legal advice to hospitals, health systems, or healthcare providers.

• Excellent skills in legal research, writing, drafting, analysis, communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving.
