Home Loan Advisor – External Production

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Actively seek out new residential mortgage loans to achieve set quality and production targets.

• Build and sustain a robust network of business connections to ensure a steady flow of mortgage loan referrals.

• Generate mortgage loans through self-sourced business and personal contacts by providing outstanding service and managing a lead management system.

• Engage with potential and existing borrowers to discuss mortgage product options via phone, email, or in-person meetings.

• Guide members in selecting the appropriate product, handling lock requests, and delivering necessary disclosures as mandated by law.

• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations concerning credit union compliance.

• Closely monitor the mortgage loan pipeline to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate processing of loans.

• Supervise the loan process from initiation to closing while maintaining ongoing communication with applicants.

• Collaborate effectively with the mortgage resource center and operations staff to ensure the mortgage loan progresses in line with credit union standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience; a four-year college degree is preferred.

• At least five years of experience in a mortgage-related role, with a minimum of two years in generating self-sourced business.

• Outstanding member service abilities.

• Strong skills in credit and general financial analysis.

• Up-to-date knowledge of the mortgage industry.

• Excellent capability in gathering and reporting information on market trends, including competitive product and service offerings.

• Understanding of the secondary market, including government programs.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to develop and maintain advisory and consultative home loan expertise.

• Proficient in the use of office equipment and possess intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of Excel.
