This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Provide infusions to patients in their residences and commute between patients’ homes.
• Administer specialized medications through IV, subcutaneous injection, or other prescribed methods.
• Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications during and after the infusion process.
• Evaluate medical history, allergies, current medications, physical condition, and vital signs.
• Identify and document risks, side effects, and any issues related to infusion therapy.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on medications, potential side effects, treatment expectations, and emergency procedures.
• Schedule follow-up calls or visits and provide insights for adjustments to care plans.
• Maintain precise records of infusions, patient responses, adverse events, medication administration, education, and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy staff to ensure coordinated patient care and treatment.
• Communicate any treatment or patient concerns to the clinical nurse supervisor.
• Safely prepare and handle medications while verifying dosages and medications.
• Adhere to sterile techniques, infection control guidelines, and safety protocols.
• Monitor the inventory of specialty medications and infusion supplies.
• Assist with insurance verification or authorization processes.
• If certified as IgCN and assigned, mentor nurses, support training, observe clinical practices, assess competencies, and document mentorship activities.
• Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• A college degree or certification is required, or equivalent experience may be accepted.
• A minimum of 2 years of RN experience is required.
• At least 1 year of experience accessing PIV lines, ports, and maintaining PICC lines is required.
• 1 year of experience in ER/ICU/infusion settings is preferred.
• 1 year of infusion experience in either a hospital or Home Health setting is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 2 hours from Scranton, PA to visit patients in their homes is essential.
• Successful completion of a drug screening prior to employment is required.
• Ability to perform designated technical, clerical, and clinical tasks in home care.
• IgCN certification is applicable to additional mentorship responsibilities when active.
• Travel time is included in work hours and compensated on an hourly basis.
• Mileage reimbursement at a rate of $0.48 per mile.
