Hmong VRI/OPI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical contexts. Training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpreting sessions.

• Enable communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Hmong".

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous but not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus, though not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is beneficial.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is an advantage (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
