HIM Processor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Compile, evaluate, and manage medical records following established protocols.

• Verify the completeness of medical records prior to finalizing discharged patient files.

• Secure physician signatures for necessary certifications and orders promptly.

• Notify of incomplete recertifications three days before the conclusion of the Benefit Period.

• Adhere to HIM policies and procedures as directed by the HIM & Coding Director.

• Digitally scan and categorize paper documents in accordance with a specified filing structure.

• Request prior medical records from hospitals and physicians as needed.

• Organize and scan medical record documentation, ensuring accurate patient name and number alignment with charts.

• Track documentation returns until charts are finalized and escalate any unresolved chart deficiencies.

• Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

• Up to one (1) year of office experience, ideally within a medical environment.

• Preferred Health Information Management Certificate or HIT PRO Certificate.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Proficient in navigating Electronic Health Records (EHR).

• Familiarity with the format and content of medical records.

• Attention to detail is essential.

• Capability to bend and reach overhead as required.

• Successfully complete competency requirements.

• Agree to drug and/or alcohol testing upon receiving a conditional job offer.

• Comply with ongoing Drug-Free Workplace Policy requirements.

• For services rendered to Florida affiliates, pass the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse eligibility verification after a conditional offer and maintain ongoing eligibility.
