This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Accurately upload and index external records utilizing relevant software, directing documentation to clinicians as necessary.
• Create or identify the suitable patient, encounter, and/or order, and assign the correct document type and description in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Integrate both internal and external clinical documentation from electronic and paper sources through work queues, rounding, eDelivery, or importing into the EHR.
• Review medical records for incomplete documentation and signatures, assigning or editing deficiencies to the responsible provider.
• Offer support and education to clinicians concerning record completion tasks.
• Collaborate with Data Integrity and other departments to report documentation errors for chart correction.
• Inform relevant leadership for quality review and privacy investigations.
• Ensure that scanned documents are clear, legible, properly positioned, and readable by end users.
• Act as a point of contact for record-completion support for clinicians and other healthcare providers.
• Achieve established quality, accuracy, and productivity standards while adhering to Health Information Management (HIM) procedures and applicable regulations.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Generally requires 0-1 years of experience in the healthcare sector.
• No licensure, registration, or certification is necessary.
• Proficient in computer and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to learn Epic, OnBase, Solarity, Microsoft Office, legacy archives, Teams, and electronic communication and meeting platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment with time constraints.
• Ability to operate independently and make decisions with minimal supervision while upholding quality and productivity standards.
• Capacity to collaborate in a diverse team setting.
• Flexibility to adapt to task switching while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Willingness to accept constructive feedback and take responsibility for success.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Capacity to protect confidential health information and possess a fundamental understanding of HIPAA.
• Capability to perform repetitive functions and hand movements in a standard office environment.
