This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +32 more states.
• Precisely upload and index external records utilizing relevant software, directing documentation to clinicians as needed.
• Create or select the correct patient, encounter, and/or order, assigning appropriate document types and descriptions in the EHR.
• Integrate internal and external clinical documentation from both electronic and paper sources via work queues, rounding, eDelivery, or importing into the EHR.
• Achieve established quality, accuracy, and productivity standards.
• Review medical records for any missing documentation and signatures.
• Assign and modify medical record deficiencies by designated providers within the chart management system.
• Offer support and education to clinicians on record completion.
• Collaborate with Data Integrity and other departments on documentation discrepancies and chart corrections.
• Alert leadership for quality assessments and privacy investigations.
• Ensure that scanned documents are clear, legible, properly positioned, and readable.
• Act as a contact point for record completion assistance for clinicians and other providers.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Generally requires 0–1 years of experience in the healthcare sector.
• No licensure, registration, or certification necessary.
• Strong computer and typing skills.
• Willingness to learn Epic, OnBase, Solarity, Microsoft Office, legacy archives, Teams, and electronic communication tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and perform under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited supervision while upholding quality and productivity standards.
• Skill in collaborating effectively within a diverse team setting.
• Quick adaptability and ability to switch tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Willingness to accept constructive feedback and take responsibility for one's success.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Capacity to protect confidential health information and basic understanding of HIPAA regulations.
• Proficiency in operating necessary equipment, performing repetitive tasks and hand movements, and sitting for most of the workday.
