High Voltage Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Set up, operate, and maintain specialized mobile high-voltage testing equipment and trailer systems.

• Conduct and support high-voltage testing of large power transformers at client locations.

• Execute applied voltage, induced voltage, partial discharge localization, and temperature rise assessments.

• Conduct low-voltage transformer testing, including winding resistance, turns ratio, excitation, and power factor analysis.

• Evaluate electrical test results and detect abnormal conditions or potential technical problems.

• Calibrate and validate electrical testing instruments.

• Assist in the development and implementation of test plans and procedures.

• Generate comprehensive technical test reports following field assignments.

• Share test outcomes and technical insights with customers and internal teams.

• Offer technical support to field teams and collaborate with engineers and technicians.

• Aid in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during field tests.

• Contribute technical insights to proposal and planning processes.

• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, industry standards, procedures, and guidelines.

• Travel frequently to customer locations throughout the United States.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in transformer testing, high-voltage testing, electrical testing, or field service.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in transformer testing, high-voltage testing, electrical testing, field engineering, or a similar environment.

• Practical experience with electrical and/or high-voltage testing equipment.

• Preferred experience with power transformer testing.

• Familiarity with high-voltage systems and experience with large power transformers.

• Proficient in interpreting electrical test data and drafting technical reports.

• Understanding of relevant industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and/or NEMA.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to professionally engage with customers and field teams.

• Keen attention to safety, precision, and technical detail.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and technical documentation.

• Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the United States.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States.
