High School Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Provide specially crafted virtual instruction to students with special needs

• Effectively manage instructional programs for a caseload of students who require direct and/or indirect services

• Create, document, implement, and oversee IEPs and 504 plans

• Track student progress, complete report cards, and hold parent conferences

• Communicate with IEP team members, parents/learning coaches, related service providers, and school personnel

• Deliver direct student services using web-conferencing software as necessary

• Organize, schedule, and conduct IEP-related meetings in a virtual setting

• Participate in the school's Student Support Team

• Assist teachers and learning coaches in developing and applying program modifications and strategies

• Support with IEP documentation, paperwork, and procedures

• Coordinate related service providers as stipulated by IEPs

• Maintain precise and current data in the Learning Management System and special education software

• Assist with state testing and facilitate IEP-required special adaptations

• Ensure the successful operation of the special education program in compliance with federal and state regulations

• Undertake additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related educational field

• Valid Oregon Special Education certification

• Background in IDEA policy and/or special education administration

• Proficient in technology, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Highly organized and punctual

• Customer-focused mindset

• High level of flexibility and adaptability

• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Strong history of teamwork

• Willingness to travel for marketing, state testing, and other school-related events, including occasional overnight trips

• Ability to effectively work remotely

• Competence in using a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication
