High School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Deliver targeted high school science course material in an online setting

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process

• Personalize education and differentiate teaching strategies based on student proficiency

• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress

• Prepare students for important standardized assessments

• Build and sustain positive relationships with families

• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom issues

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student testing, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• Active state teaching license

• Appropriate state Department of Education High School (9-12) Science Teaching Certification

• Ability to pass a required background check

• Capability to work independently, typically over 40 hours per week

• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during working hours

• Experience working with the specified age group

• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology usage

• Experience in teaching within an online or traditional classroom setting

• Familiarity with online learning platforms

• Ability to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data to inform instructional decisions

• Willingness to receive regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers

• Ability to adapt to change to ensure outstanding student outcomes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
