High School PE/Health Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school Physical Education/Health course content in a virtual setting.

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.

• Personalize learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency.

• Monitor student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families.

• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting.

• Enhance course content utilizing designated synchronous and asynchronous tools.

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a resident of Michigan.

• Bachelor’s degree is required.

• Active teaching license in the state.

• Michigan Teaching Certification with a PE/Health endorsement.

• Capability to pass the necessary background check.

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Capability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during work hours.

• Experience with the designated age group is preferred.

• Background in supporting both adults and children with technology is preferred.

• Experience teaching either online or in a traditional classroom setting is preferred.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is required.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
