This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ We are currently inviting applications for the online teaching positions listed below: Instructors may be engaged for one or multiple weeks.
β’ The typical class size consists of 6 students.
β’ The curriculum is enhanced by computational simulations related to dark matter and galactic formation, along with physical demonstrations, student-led discussions, and thought experiments.
β’ Observational astronomy will be integrated into the course, utilizing solar and night sky telescopes, with an emphasis on techniques for identifying constellations and engaging in naked-eye astronomy.
β’ Students will undertake their final research based on a self-selected area of interest.
β’ Instructors typically include year-round science teachers, individuals pursuing graduate studies in science, or those with substantial teaching or mentoring experience in astrophysics.
β’ A minimum of 2 years' experience teaching astrophysics or possessing significant subject matter expertise is required.
β’ Experience in an academic setting with middle or high school students is preferred.
β’ A bachelor's degree is mandatory; preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree.
β’ The ability to engage with and clarify complex concepts for high school students is essential.
β’ A strong enthusiasm for science education is necessary.
β’ Candidates should exhibit a calm and professional demeanor.
β’ Self-motivation and the ability to follow through on tasks are crucial.
β’ Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are required.
β’ Summer instructors and counselors are required to complete an online training session prior to the commencement of camp.
