High School ELL Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Accountable for overseeing ELL K-12 program administration, delivering professional support and training, along with student and family services.

• Utilizes effective language acquisition strategies to enhance program development, support teachers, and educate students.

• Provides guidance to administration to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Delivers enriching synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.

• Maintains the grade book to ensure academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notifies administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepares students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Builds and sustains positive relationships with families, regularly communicating with and responding to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.

• Assists learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional matters, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting, adhering to academy policies and procedures.

• Travels as necessary (approximately once a month and/or about 20% of the time) for in-person professional development, student assessments, and other school-related requirements.

• Bachelor's degree AND an active state teaching license AND the capability to pass the required background check.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data, utilizing it to inform instructional decisions.

• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.

• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and stay fluent in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
