This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• This role is with Arkansas Connections Academy, allowing work from the office in Bentonville, Arkansas, or from your home office within the state.
• Certified Teachers will oversee instructional programs in a virtual setting.
• They will regularly consult with learning coaches and students via telephone, Internet, and various curriculum tools to ensure each child completes their instructional program successfully.
• The High School Teacher is accountable for timely grading, creating progress reports, and conducting parent conferences.
• Support the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous teaching.
• Evaluate the curriculum and create alternative methods for presenting lessons to enhance student comprehension (working directly with students and parents).
• Maintain regular communication with parents, students, and fellow teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, assess scores, provide feedback on student work, recommend instructional strategies, monitor assignment completion, and guide special projects.
• Collaborate with other educators to ensure all students are progressing successfully through the program, that parents have a designated point of contact, and that tasks are effectively distributed among teachers.
• Acquire a general understanding of the entire K-12 curriculum and a detailed understanding of the specific courses for which they are responsible.
• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and offer additional help with daily assignments and projects.
• Engage in regular communication with parents, students, and curriculum specialists using computer and telephone.
• Keep student records and data current, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance records, and logging all communications with students and parents.
• Collaborate with other teachers and learning specialists to create alternative enrichment activities and modifications to students’ programs to enhance understanding.
• Work with fellow teachers to organize social activities and relevant field trips for students.
• Oversee regional field trips and strive to integrate these trips into the curriculum.
• Develop and implement virtual strategies for fostering a “school community”.
• Participate in the organization and administration of State Testing as directed.
• Engage in student recruitment sessions and other marketing initiatives that require teacher representation.
• Collaborate with Advisory Teachers and School Counselors to ensure students and families receive appropriate communications, that students are making adequate progress, and that established goals are being met.
• Attend field trips and other community activities designed for families.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must either reside within Arkansas or live within 300 miles of Bentonville, AR.
• Highly qualified and certified to teach ELA in Arkansas, relevant to grade level and content area responsibilities.
• Strong technology skills, particularly with Microsoft OS, MS Office programs, and Google Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, which may include overnight travel.
• Ability to work remotely.

• Highly qualified and certified to teach ELA in Arkansas, relevant to grade level and content area responsibilities.
