This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Provide direct support for a designated group of up to 150 students from their enrollment until they advance to elementary promotion.
• Act as the primary contact for student onboarding following initial enrollment.
• Offer tailored support based on various factors, including academic performance, socio-emotional needs, and other risk considerations.
• Create individualized learning plans with achievable academic and personal success objectives.
• Foster relationships, engage in developmental discussions, and inspire students.
• Counsel and guide students via phone, email, text, and online platforms.
• Monitor attendance and academic performance through effective communication and analytics.
• Collaborate with students, families, educators, school personnel, departments, and services to address concerns.
• Assist in maintaining enrollment and ensure robust academic plans are in place.
• Conduct virtual information sessions, open houses, community events, and student orientations.
• Design and execute weekly Homeroom SEL lessons, Family Open Houses, and Career spotlights.
• Train and assist teachers in providing effective student support.
• Thoroughly document interactions and evolving processes.
• Act as a liaison among students, teachers, and families.
• Engage in school meetings, training sessions, and committees.
• Provide basic technology troubleshooting assistance for students and families.
• Allocate 75% of work hours to direct interactions with students and/or parents through phone calls or Zoom meetings.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.
• At least three (3) years of experience in teaching, academic coaching, social-emotional counseling, or supporting students in college readiness.
• Experience with innovative technologies and online learning is highly desirable.
• Valid AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Outstanding customer service, advising, and counseling abilities.
• Professional demeanor with a proactive attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with teachers, parents, students, alumni, corporate partners, vendors, and admissions staff.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and planning competencies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Competence with computers, technology, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience utilizing the internet and social media platforms.
• Capability to meet specified physical demands, including occasional lifting or pushing of up to 15 lbs.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, meetings, training sessions, and/or conferences.
