This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver targeted course content in an online setting for High School CTE Principles of Arts, A/V Tech, and Communications.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process and catering to individual student needs.
• Monitor student progress using K12’s learning management system.
• Collaborate with students and parents to enhance learning and develop as well as monitor post-secondary success plans utilizing online tools.
• Implement K12 curriculum and online educational knowledge specific to the assigned grade and subject area.
• Maintain awareness and application of state, Common Core, and industry-specific educational standards.
• Assist students and parents with placement, online school setup, curriculum, and instructional concerns.
• Create instructional tools and strategies to supplement and enrich the curriculum.
• Regularly communicate with students via email or phone and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
• Engage in weekly teacher conference calls and attend scheduled in-person and virtual staff meetings.
• Keep records of student academic progress and generate formal reports.
• Notify administrators regarding concerns related to student progress and attendance.
• Manage student placement adjustments and complete semester and end-of-year progress reports.
• Organize orientation, training, social, and educational events for students and families.
• Produce a monthly newsletter or update the website.
• Travel to designated geographic areas to participate in open houses, expos, information sessions, and orientations.
• Facilitate student and parent orientations.
• Prepare students for state assessments, proctor site-based exams, administer state assessments, and evaluate students in accordance with policy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of successful teaching experience in a virtual environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates and Licenses: Industrial Art, Technology, OR Trade and Industrial Education.
• Texas residency requirement.
• Capability to pass required background check(s).
• Shared commitment to the virtual academy's mission.
• Strong knowledge in content and subject matter.
• Ability to support and guide both adults and students.
• Familiarity with databases utilized by K12.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and web applications.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.
• Experience as an online learner, project-based learning, and familiarity with student information systems/database is preferred.
• Ability to assist adults with basic computer setup and navigation is preferred.
• Base salary of $49,000.
