This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and nurture relationships with heavy haul carriers, customers, agents, and members of the internal team.
• Identify capacity for specialized freight, including oversized, overweight, super loads, and project-oriented shipments.
• Investigate load specifications such as dimensions, weight, route restrictions, permits, and escort requirements.
• Ensure carrier adherence to DOT regulations, permitting needs, and customer-specific service criteria.
• Negotiate pricing and secure competitive solutions for heavy haul freight carriers.
• Collaborate with operations and account management teams to guarantee successful execution of specialized shipments.
• Proactively track and relay shipment updates, delays, and route modifications to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain precise load and carrier data within internal systems.
• Cultivate new carrier partnerships and enhance existing heavy haul carrier networks.
• Monitor market trends and capacity conditions within the specialized transportation sector.
• Revise service-level reports and analyze carrier performance and shipment outcomes.
• Capability to forge strong professional relationships with carriers, customers, and internal teams.
• Prior experience in heavy haul, oversized, specialized, or project freight transportation is essential.
• Familiarity with heavy haul equipment including RGNs, lowboys, flatbeds, step decks, multi-axle trailers, and specialized configurations.
• Comprehension of permitting, routing restrictions, escort requirements, and DOT/FMCSA regulations related to oversized freight.
• Experience in negotiating rates and managing carrier relationships in a dynamic logistics environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and organizational capabilities.
• Proficiency in analyzing and prioritizing multiple projects and issues simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, carrier sales, or heavy haul operations is preferred.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications and transportation management systems (TMS).
