Healthcare BI Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, document, and validate requirements, translating them into technical data specifications, KPIs, and user outcomes.

• Design comprehensive end-to-end solutions encompassing data sourcing, scalable data models, metric definitions, and user-friendly dashboard layouts that effectively visualize trends.

• Develop reports, dashboards, and analytical datasets; write optimized SQL and utilize company-approved BI tools to provide both market-facing and internal analytics capabilities.

• Execute thorough data validation and user acceptance testing (UAT); confirm metric logic, source-to-target accuracy, and dashboard functionality prior to release.

• Oversee the deployment of new reports and dashboards following established release processes; engage with stakeholders to ensure proper access control, user training, and timely delivery.

• Monitor and maintain the integrity of existing reporting assets; troubleshoot data and dashboard issues, identify root causes, and implement technology or process adjustments to ensure ongoing reliability.

• Continuously assess existing analytics capabilities for opportunities for enhancement; integrate stakeholder feedback, evolving business needs, and new data sources to augment analytical value.

• Offer training and support to end users in utilizing and interpreting reports and analytics. Create user-friendly documentation to facilitate self-service.

• Address urgent business needs through quick ad-hoc queries, report creation, and data analysis.

• Conduct ongoing analysis of current performance, leveraging historical trends, and perform frequent re-forecasting to adjust staffing plans to meet service level goals and business objectives.

• Assist internal teams by employing data and root cause analysis to propose process changes that enhance SLAs and operational efficiency. Minimize manual effort by automating insights through BI tools, scripting, and improved data pipelines.

• Participate in assigned special projects and transformation initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth understanding of healthcare data, encompassing claims, clinical, and operational data.

• Proven track record in managing the complete lifecycle of reporting and analytics development, from gathering requirements to long-term maintenance.

• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and process improvement.

• Advanced proficiency in Jira, Confluence, project planning, Microsoft Office, and related productivity tools.

• Demonstrated capability to work independently, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple issues and production deadlines.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity while adhering to appropriate guardrails.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex or technical information clearly and interpret intricate information from others.

• Preferred proficiency in Python programming to facilitate automation and advanced analytics capabilities.
