šŸ“‹ Description

• The Vice President of Health Plan Sales is accountable for generating new sales within the new to blue and large health plan market segment, which serves as a crucial growth avenue for Prime’s PBM business unit and the wider Prime organization.

• Success will be assessed based on the achievement of sales goals, including the number of prospects identified, finalist meetings conducted, groups secured, lives won, and other significant objectives outlined.

• Build and nurture relationships with consultants; facilitate discovery meetings, and enhance awareness and understanding of Prime’s value proposition.

• Collaborate effectively with the Sales Development Managers of HPS and key functional stakeholders throughout the complete Large Bid selling process.

• Conduct a comprehensive qualitative analysis of RFPs, ensuring accountability for health plan bid deliverables, including responses to critical plan/consultant questions, the RFP bid executive summary, finalist and capabilities presentations, and the overall accuracy and timeliness of responses.

• Spearhead the creation of dossiers (Bid-at-a-Glance or BAG) or Client Status Reports (SCRs) for assigned prospects to aid in sales planning, focusing on clearly defining strategies for success.

• Engage with Prime’s senior leadership, subject matter experts, and competitive intelligence to guarantee that the sales department is up-to-date on Prime’s latest capabilities and products while providing insights into Prime’s market competitiveness.

• Work in conjunction with the marketing department on sales campaigns, outreach planning, meeting preparations, and other communication methods, as well as with HPS sales operations to establish and maintain effective sales prospecting, database integrity, event strategy, and sales pipeline precision and KPI reporting routines.

• Collaborate with Business and Functional Unit leaders to craft proposals that optimize profit, revenue, and gross margin for new prospects.

• Identify operational gaps and spearhead special projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and applying best practices within the Health Plan Sales department.

• Partner with Prime’s legal counsel and cross-functional stakeholders to address the contracting needs of client prospects.

• Provide daily work guidance, mentorship, and support to Sales Development Managers.

• Engage in staffing selection and lead the onboarding process for the sales team as necessary.


ā›³ļø Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related discipline, or a comparable combination of education and/or relevant work experience; a high school diploma or GED is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, business-to-business sales, or sales support.

• Must have eligibility to work in the United States without requiring a work visa or residency sponsorship.

• Outstanding facilitation, presentation, and consultation abilities; proven capacity to distill financial or PBM-related concepts into clear and persuasive messages.

• Proven ability to identify and create opportunities, as well as develop effective sales messages, presentations, and proposals.

• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.

• Strong organizational, project management, and time management capabilities.

• Recognized as a subject matter expert in one or more areas within the industry.

• Excellent business development insight, critical thinking, and customer orientation skills.
