This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accurately and efficiently process requests for the release of information, particularly medical records.
• Receive and handle patient health information requests in accordance with company and facility guidelines.
• Protect patient privacy while ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive information in line with HIPAA regulations.
• Retrieve, scan, copy, assemble, and digitize medical records as required.
• Prepare charts for new patients, ensuring records are precise, complete, and organized according to standards.
• Address internal and external inquiries regarding patient records and transmit them as necessary.
• Document information across various platforms utilizing two computer monitors.
• Manage inbound and outbound calls effectively.
• Provide assistance to patients who walk in, handle faxes, manage mail, perform data entry, and schedule pickups when needed.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of company and facility software.
• Notify the manager about work-related challenges, site issues, and varying workloads.
• Lead daily team meetings and serve as a point of contact for staff inquiries.
• Train HIS I staff, new hires, and associates through shadowing and developmental training.
• Create reports for management or facility use.
• Achieve or surpass level 1 productivity expectations and adhere to company productivity standards.
• Engage in project teams and committees focused on enhancing operational strategies and initiatives.
• Execute other responsibilities as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to travel between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when needed.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in Health Information.
• Must meet or exceed the Company's Productivity Standards.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills is essential.
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment regularly.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate and compliant medical records.
• Strong data entry capabilities.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while adapting to changing priorities and role requirements.
• Skilled in organizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Capable of responding to requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Full-time position: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm CST, with potential for overtime, evenings, or weekends as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Post-offer health screenings and proof of various vaccinations may be required by clients.
• This position is not eligible for employment sponsorship.
