This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
β’ Accurately and efficiently process the release of information, particularly medical record requests.
β’ Receive and handle patient health information requests in accordance with company and facility policies.
β’ Ensure confidentiality, security, and HIPAA compliance for sensitive patient information.
β’ Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company and facility software.
β’ Communicate any work-related issues, site challenges, and variations in workload to the manager.
β’ Manage and protect patient health records diligently.
β’ Prepare new patient charts utilizing both paper documents and electronic health records.
β’ Assemble medical records in a standardized order while ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
β’ Create digital images of documents for electronic medical records storage.
β’ Retrieve and properly transmit patient records to both internal and external requestors.
β’ Handle inbound and outbound calls, providing updates on medical record status.
β’ Assist patients who walk in when necessary.
β’ Support with faxes, mail sorting, data entry, and various administrative tasks.
β’ Schedule pickups as required.
β’ Meet site productivity standards while performing other assigned responsibilities.
β’ High School Diploma or GED is required.
β’ Must be able to commute between locations as necessary.
β’ Willingness to work overtime during busy periods when needed.
β’ Basic proficiency in computer skills is essential.
β’ Competence with phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment is required.
β’ Professional verbal and written communication skills in English are necessary.
β’ Strong skills in data entry.
β’ A detail-oriented and quality-focused approach to maintaining accurate and compliant medical records.
β’ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to shifting priorities.
β’ Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
β’ Capability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
β’ Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
β’ Previous experience in production or metric-based roles is a plus.
β’ In-person customer service experience is also beneficial.
β’ A comprehensive onsite/virtual training program followed by job shadowing with a designated mentor.
