This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Receive and handle requests for patient health information in line with Company and Facility policies and procedures.
• Ensure confidentiality and security regarding all sensitive information.
• Maintain a proficient understanding of Company and facility software.
• Comply with the Company's and Customer facilities Code of Conduct and policies.
• Notify the manager of work-related issues, site challenges, and/or changes in workload.
• Support additional work tasks or responsibilities as necessary or required.
• Consistently apply medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosures.
• Oversee the management of patient health records.
• Ensure the protection of patient records while adhering to HIPAA standards.
• Prepare new patient charts, collecting documents and information from both paper sources and/or electronic health records.
• Verify that medical records are organized in standard order and are both accurate and complete.
• Create digital images of documentation for storage in the electronic medical record.
• Respond to requests for patient records, both internally and from external sources, retrieving and transmitting them as required.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls.
• May assist with patient walk-ins.
• May perform administrative tasks such as managing faxes, sorting mail, and data entry.
• Must meet productivity standards as established at the specific site.
• May coordinate pick-ups.
• Other duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to travel between locations as necessary.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Comfortable using telephones, fax machines, printers, and other general office equipment regularly.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented and focused on quality regarding accurate and compliant medical record information.
• Strong data entry capabilities.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while adapting to changing priorities and responsibilities.
• Capable of organizing and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Able to respond to requests in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
