This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Efficiently and accurately process all release of information (ROI), particularly medical record requests.
• Receive and handle requests for patient health information in accordance with Company and Facility policies and procedures.
• Uphold confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Company and facility software.
• Comply with Company and customer facility codes of conduct and policies.
• Communicate work-related issues, site challenges, and fluctuating volumes to the manager.
• Manage patient health records and protect them in alignment with HIPAA regulations.
• Create new patient charts utilizing paper sources and/or electronic health records.
• Organize medical records in standard order, ensuring they are accurate and complete.
• Generate digital images of documents for storage in electronic medical records.
• Retrieve and properly transmit patient records to both internal and external requesters.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys.
• Provide assistance to patient walk-ins as necessary.
• Support with faxes, mail handling, data entry, and scheduling pick-ups.
• Meet site-specific productivity standards.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to travel between locations as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons when necessary.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.
• Familiarity with phones, fax machines, printers, and common office equipment.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong skills in data entry.
• Detail-oriented and focused on quality for accurate, compliant medical records.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• Capable of organizing and managing multiple tasks.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
• Experience in a high-volume production setting is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Previous experience in production/metric-based roles is a plus.
• In-person customer service experience is a bonus.
• This position does not qualify for employment sponsorship.
