This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Process all requests for release of information (ROI), particularly medical record inquiries, efficiently and within designated timeframes.
• Safeguard patient privacy and ensure that access to medical information is restricted to authorized personnel only.
• Ensure that all releases of information adhere to requests, authorizations, company policies, and HIPAA regulations.
• Receive and manage requests for patient health information in accordance with Company and Facility guidelines.
• Uphold the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
• Maintain a solid understanding of Company and facility software systems.
• Follow Company and customer facility codes of conduct and policies diligently.
• Keep the manager informed about work progress, site challenges, and variations in workload.
• Oversee patient health records to ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Prepare new patient charts using both paper and electronic health records.
• Organize medical records in standard order while ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
• Create digital versions of paperwork for storage in electronic medical records systems.
• Retrieve and correctly transmit patient records to both internal and external entities.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally.
• Assist patients who walk in to the facility.
• Manage faxes, open mail, and perform data entry as required.
• Meet specific productivity targets set for the site.
• Schedule pick-ups as necessary.
• Carry out other assigned responsibilities as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to travel between locations as required.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when needed.
• Basic proficiency in computer use is necessary.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Comfortable operating phones, fax machines, printers, and other standard office equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented approach to ensuring accuracy and compliance in medical records.
• Strong data entry capabilities.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
• Capability to organize and juggle multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume production setting.
• Ineligible for employment sponsorship.
