Health Engagement Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary contact for patients and caregivers.

• Foster rapport and develop trusting connections with patients and their families.

• Conduct outbound calls to inform patients about Sylvan Health programs and help with enrollment.

• Arrange initial and subsequent telehealth appointments with Registered Dietitians.

• Assist patients with scheduling, telehealth visits, and inquiries related to insurance.

• Provide follow-up communications through phone, SMS, email, and patient portal messaging.

• Manage incoming patient communications, appointment modifications, and visit transfers.

• Offer compassionate customer service during interactions with patients.

• Collaborate with Registered Dietitians and other members of the care team.

• Accurately document patient interactions in EMR and CRM systems.

• Address patient and caregiver inquiries in a professional and efficient manner.

• Navigate various systems and workflows concurrently.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a patient-facing or healthcare communication role, such as care coordination, patient scheduling, or healthcare customer support.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of health literacy.

• Capacity to handle sensitive, complex, or rapidly changing situations in real time.

• Familiarity with the U.S. healthcare system, including types of provider visits, care pathways, fundamental insurance concepts, and patient navigation processes.

• Proficient in communicating clearly and confidently via phone, SMS, and email.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Ability to adapt to changing workflows and operational procedures.

• Competence in working efficiently across multiple software systems at once.

• Previous experience or knowledge in nutrition or Medical Nutrition Therapy is advantageous but not mandatory.

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred, though not required.
