This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Offer personalized guidance through the details of the death process and serve as the primary contact when a death is reported.
• Educate and function as a reliable partner throughout the death process.
• Manage incoming calls to assess needs and provide appropriate guidance.
• Determine the most effective communication method throughout the death process.
• Identify and clarify available benefits.
• Set clear expectations regarding the information needed to process death claims through vendors.
• Coordinate the collection of information required for filing claims, enrolling in relevant benefits, and ensuring timely distribution of benefits.
• Provide instructions when additional information is necessary for claim processing and coordinate with vendors accordingly.
• Document research, email, and phone communications in the case management system.
• Facilitate connections with vendors through warm transfers or by providing contact information.
• Comply with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional customer service and problem resolution skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability, with the capacity to rearrange priorities as business needs evolve.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• A minimum of one year of BenAdministration experience is required.
• Basic knowledge of industry terminology.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and decision-making capabilities.
• Proficiency in navigating multiple technical environments using various hardware and software platforms, including the Windows operating system.
• A high school diploma is required.
• Two years of relevant experience in telephonic customer service.
• Must possess work authorization in the Employing Country that does not currently or in the future require visa sponsorship.
• Successful completion of a background check in line with Alight’s employment policies.
• Virtual interviews must be conducted via video.
