
Head Start Early Childhood Specialist – Bilingual English/Spanish

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Deliver Technical Assistance and Training (TTA) to programs focused on school readiness, family engagement, and professional growth.
• Offer TTA related to the selection and execution of ongoing child assessments, curriculum, and teaching methods that are age-appropriate, developmentally suitable, culturally relevant, and linguistically appropriate across the birth to five age range.
• Support programs in enhancing teacher/child interactions as outlined by the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).
• Aid programs in developing the procedures and expertise necessary to collect, analyze, and utilize data from various sources.
• Help programs in implementing a research-driven coaching model.
• Assist programs in establishing and executing family engagement practices that promote family development as described in the Parent Family and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework.
• Support programs in strengthening transition practices for children from birth to five, including fostering relationships with local preschools, elementary schools, and other partners.
• Aid programs in enhancing their partnerships with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), state agencies, and other collaborators.
• Maintain regular and prompt communication with Regional Office staff regarding TTA delivery and progress towards corrective actions or quality enhancements.
• Support emerging Office of Head Start (OHS) initiatives and priorities.
• A minimum of a BA or BS degree in Early Childhood Education/Development or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Must be fluently bilingual, capable of reading, writing, and speaking in both Spanish and English.
• Over 5 years of experience in programs catering to young children aged birth to five years.
• At least 1 year of experience working with infants and toddlers.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in family engagement.
• At least 1 year of experience in facilitating group discussions and presenting to diverse audiences.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in data analysis and assisting programs in making data-driven decisions.
• At least 1 year of experience providing training and/or technical assistance to programs in developing and/or implementing school readiness objectives or plans.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in effective oral and written communication to various audiences.
