Head of Weapons Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, introduce, and oversee the Deadly Weapons insurance product.

• Directly report to the Head of Crisis Management.

• Profitably expand the portfolio as a Coverholder of Convex UK and selected capacity providers.

• Recruit, guide, mentor, and enhance the U.S. Deadly Weapons underwriting product and its team.

• Collaborate with Convex UK and other capacity providers to create a cohesive business plan and underwriting appetite.

• Formulate underwriting strategies for a start-up, including aspects like product development, pricing, and competitive analysis.

• Determine the ideal capacity mix for sustained product growth.

• Underwrite, sustain, and expand the portfolio in line with the Deadly Weapons plan, strategy, authority levels, and regulatory standards.

• Establish and manage a crisis-management vendor ecosystem focused on threat assessment, response, and value-added services.

• Create and maintain relationships with wholesale and retail production sources.

• Generate proprietary marketing and brand materials.

• Lead a small underwriting team and work with leadership to achieve the annual business plan and underwriting profit goals.


⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity or expertise in technical underwriting, product development, capacity management, and crisis management vendor integration.

• Capability to recruit, guide, mentor, and cultivate an underwriting product and team.

• Experience in collaborating with UK and other capacity-provider underwriters and underwriting leadership.

• Ability to lead a start-up and attract high-caliber underwriting talent.

• Skill in developing underwriting strategies, product development, pricing, and competitive analysis.

• Proficiency in aligning and establishing an optimal capacity mix.

• Competence to underwrite, maintain, and grow a portfolio in accordance with plan, strategy, authority levels, and regulatory standards.

• Ability to build and manage a vendor ecosystem focused on threat assessment and response.

• Skill in developing and maintaining wholesale and retail production-source relationships.

• Ability to produce marketing and brand materials.

• Capability to deliver annual top- and bottom-line business plans and underwriting profit goals.

• Strong ability to drive results.
