This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Establish the comprehensive product vision for the utility sector: formulate the global product vision and strategy for 1KOMMA5°'s utility division.
• Lead and develop your product team and stakeholders: oversee and guide a growing team of product managers.
• Standardize and enhance core systems and processes: create and execute global standards for systems and technical configurations.
• Foster operational excellence in energy markets: manage market operations processes.
• Track performance and drive business impact: define and monitor KPIs for product performance.
• Align both internal and external stakeholders: work collaboratively across functions with internal teams and external partners.
• Anticipate market trends: keep abreast of regulatory, commercial, and technological developments.
• Propel commercial success: collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and market leaders to strategically position energy products on a global scale.
• At least 5+ years of experience in product, commercial, or operational leadership within the energy sector (preferably energy trading/utilities, tariffs, services) across various markets.
• Demonstrated experience in leading product managers or cross-functional teams while managing complex product areas that encompass both commercial and operational/technical aspects.
• Proven track record in building or scaling products in energy trading, tariffs, metering systems/integrations, or flexibility services.
• Extensive knowledge of the energy market business — including tariffs, pricing, metering (roles/responsibilities and operations), trading/billing, and market communication processes — across multiple countries.
• Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and market operations in the energy sector.
• Experience with flexibility services, distributed energy resources (DERs), and digital energy services is a significant advantage.
• Technical and operational proficiency: adept at collaborating with technical teams on system architecture, data flows, and integrating tools and processes (meters, billing, trading, partner platforms).
• Strong operational discipline with the capability to translate operational/process complexity into scalable product models.
• Exceptional commercial acumen combined with strong analytical skills: capable of defining and interpreting KPIs, constructing business cases, prioritizing product investments, and assessing ROI.
• Strategic thinker who is also hands-on and thrives in a rapidly changing environment.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills in both English and German.
• Capable of influencing and aligning internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead teams, build strong relationships, mentor product managers, and encourage cross-functional cooperation.
