Head of Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Tallo’s engineering and technology division.

• Enhance and support the current engineering team while expanding the frameworks and systems that drive Tallo’s career platform.

• Supervise engineering managers who lead the software engineering and quality assurance teams.

• Define the technical direction for the platform and collaborate with Product, Data, Marketing, and company leadership.

• Take ownership of the structure and vitality of the engineering organization.

• Manage technical architecture, ensure product roadmap execution, and guide long-term platform development.

• Implement engineering practices, quality assurance benchmarks, release protocols, and engineering metrics.

• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and nurture engineering managers and technical leaders.

• Establish architecture and standards for secure, efficient, and scalable systems.

• Collaborate on safety, security, compliance, data architecture, analytics, SEO, operations, and product roadmap strategy.

• Assess AI and ML use cases, providing guidance on tools, infrastructure, experimentation, and evaluation.

• Report to the CEO, updating leadership on progress, risks, capacity, and investment considerations.

• Directly oversee engineering managers, senior individual contributors, and the associated software engineering and QA teams.

• Extensive experience in software engineering and senior leadership within multi-team organizations.

• Exceptional talent acquisition skills, with a focus on attracting and securing top engineers and engineering leaders.

• Proven expertise in leading engineering managers and constructing team structures, leveling frameworks, and operational models.

• Demonstrated success in identifying and empowering strong technical leaders.

• Experience in building and scaling engineering organizations in rapidly growing environments.

• Solid foundation in modern cloud-based architectures, DevOps methodologies, and distributed systems.

• Proven history of delivering customer-facing product capabilities, including data-driven or AI-enhanced features, into production.

• Experience in overseeing quality assurance and reliability standards and practices.

• Experience in developing secure systems and adhering to compliance requirements.

• Background in collaborating with data and data science functions, covering data architecture and analytics.

• Strong people leadership abilities, including coaching managers and cultivating technical leaders.

• Excellent strategic thinking skills combined with hands-on execution capability.

• Comfortable working closely with the team.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level.

• Ability to pass required background checks.

• No specific certificates or licenses are necessary.
