Head of Technical Accounting – Financial Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Oversee Accounting Governance

• Act as the primary authority on accounting policies, technical accounting issues, and governance frameworks for the company

• Analyze complex transactions and determine the appropriate accounting treatment

• Provide guidance to executive leadership on the accounting implications of strategic initiatives

• Manage the annual audit process and transaction-related reviews

• Facilitate technical accounting discussions with external auditors

• Prepare accounting position papers and technical memorandums

• Manage Acquisition Accounting

• Collaborate with Corporate Development, Finance Transformation, and Accounting teams

• Assist in accounting diligence efforts

• Evaluate accounting and reporting risks

• Lead purchase accounting activities

• Coordinate with valuation specialists and external advisors

• Establish opening balance sheets

• Guide decisions on accounting integration

• Oversee Tax Governance and Treasury Oversight

• Cultivate relationships with external tax advisors and serve as the internal owner for tax governance, planning, and audit support

• Supervise liquidity management and cash governance

• Manage banking relationships

• Assist in debt covenant compliance

• Review cash forecasting and liquidity planning

• Collaborate on financing activities and lender reporting

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA designation required

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership role within a public company or a late-stage PE-backed private company

• Preferred background includes a mix of Big-4 or equivalent global audit firm experience and corporate accounting experience

• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP with substantial experience in ASC 606 and ASC 805

• Experience in SaaS or subscription business environments

• Proven experience supporting acquisitions and business integrations
