This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the Strategy & Operations Function.
• Lead and nurture the S&O team, consisting of approximately 10 full-time employees.
• Own and manage the S&O roadmap, set priorities, establish operating rhythms, and ensure quality output.
• Foster and enhance a culture centered on autonomy, accountability, and effective communication.
• Mentor and develop the team without resorting to micromanagement.
• Analyze and structure SafeRide’s most complex and high-stakes operational and strategic challenges.
• Create models, analyses, and executive-level recommendations that drive significant business decisions, personally when necessary, rather than solely through the team.
• Collaborate directly with the COO to shape operating strategies, prioritize impactful tasks, and transition executive discussions into actionable decisions.
• Identify and address operational constraints across Member Services, Client Services, Network Management, Routing, and other related teams.
• Enhance people, processes, tools, workflows, management systems, and operational discipline.
• Convert ambiguous operational challenges into clear work plans, assign owners, set metrics, make decisions, and establish scalable processes.
• Develop operational workarounds where product capabilities do not meet operational requirements.
• Optimize mode mix, ride assignment logic, provider allocation, benefit utilization, and prevention/control strategies.
• Collaborate with Operations, Client Success/Growth, and Finance to transform profitability opportunities into operational changes.
• Act as the bridge between frontline operational realities and the Product/Engineering roadmap.
• Assist Product in identifying the underlying business issues behind operational challenges and prioritize the most impactful tooling opportunities.
• 8–10 years of cumulative experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or a combination thereof.
• A strong foundation in consulting, with preference given to candidates from top firms like MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG).
• Experience following consulting in a leadership role within Strategy & Operations, BizOps, or Strategic Operations at a high-growth, well-funded startup.
• A proven track record in managing and developing talent; comfort in leading high-autonomy operators through influence and established standards rather than micromanagement.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data; proficiency in Excel is essential, and you should instinctively reach for the spreadsheet before scheduling a meeting.
• Effective communication skills with executives, peers, and frontline operators; capable of conducting a working session with the COO in the morning and a process review with the Call Center in the afternoon without compromising effectiveness.
• A history of thriving in ambiguous environments where the problem is not predefined.
• A willingness to act as a true player-coach, engaging in tasks such as model building, data cleaning, or memo writing as needed.
• Health insurance.
• Professional development opportunities.
