This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.
• Directly report to the VP Go-to-Market for China.
• Oversee Taylor & Francis's sales operations within a specified region in China.
• Foster revenue growth and enhance market presence across academic journals, books, eBooks, and digital content.
• Achieve overall revenue and profit goals while establishing the strategic direction for the territory.
• Meet the territory's annual sales targets and sustain momentum in line with the three-year plan.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to create a 1–3 year business strategy.
• Formulate and execute sales plans to explore untapped markets and extend into new areas.
• Spearhead strategic initiatives for scalability in sales, business development, and market growth.
• Act as an external representative for the company in various working groups and networks.
• Assemble and manage a high-performing sales team.
• Track and evaluate sales performance, addressing deficiencies with actionable insights and solutions.
• Establish and oversee sales KPIs, utilizing data-driven methods for strategy and resource distribution.
• Accelerate sales velocity and ensure timely deal closures.
• Present sales progress and business conditions to key stakeholders.
• Guide, mentor, coach, and develop sales team members.
• Manage resources, structure, and performance of the team.
• Cultivate relationships with institutions, market segments, government entities, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the organization in discussions, partnerships, and negotiations, especially for significant deals.
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve territory coverage.
• Acquire new accounts while strengthening existing relationships.
• Implement strategic projects aimed at quality enhancement and operational effectiveness in sales, adhering to Six Sigma improvement standards.
• Ensure compliance in executing sales operations, as well as adherence to company trading policies and terms.
• Utilize data and analytics for strategic decision-making and optimal resource allocation.
• Perform additional tasks as required to support evolving business needs.
• Extensive experience in sales environments (10+ years).
• In-depth understanding of the academic publishing industry and business models related to academic content.
• A broad network within academic communities, including funding bodies, distributors, and government agencies.
• Demonstrated success in managing high-pressure sales situations and meeting ambitious revenue goals.
• Ability to be resilient and adaptable in response to business changes.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in leveraging data to enhance sales performance and inform strategic decisions.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation capabilities.
• Strategic mindset with the capacity to implement effective growth strategies in competitive markets.
• Proven experience in leading, motivating, and developing high-achieving sales teams.
• Willingness to travel within the territory and attend domestic and international conferences and book fairs.
• Native proficiency in Mandarin.
• Full professional proficiency in English, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to build and sustain positive relationships with the commercial team and internal stakeholders.
• Must possess the legal right to work in China.
• Must reside in Zhejiang or Guangdong Province.
• Flexibility to travel to customer locations and offices in Shanghai or Beijing as necessary.
• Relocation assistance is not available.
