This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the Risk Intelligence department progressively, with the initial hire anticipated within about a year.
• Assess the discrepancies between planned processes and their actual implementation, and facilitate corrective measures.
• Collaborate closely with insured clients to gain insights into the practical operations of their businesses.
• Provide advice to the underwriting team based on insights obtained directly from the field.
• Evaluate clients’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are well-documented, effectively implemented, and adhered to in daily operations.
• Link this work to measurable results, such as decreased losses, fewer claims, and enhanced client performance.
• Offer clients straightforward, actionable guidance to enhance safety and compliance.
• Lead the Risk Intelligence function from its inception.
• Evaluate how effectively each insured client assesses and integrates motor carriers, considering safety, financial health, licensing, and insurance, and identify points where compliance checklists may fail.
• Collaborate with underwriting to improve risk selection and work with claims to identify loss trends and mitigate repeat losses.
• Create scalable processes, SOP audit frameworks, and an enterprise risk management (ERM) approach that the company can extend over time.
• Act as a trusted advisor to enhance the operational maturity of the clients supported.
• Conduct client reviews and operational assessments primarily via video calls, with occasional on-site visits.
• Influence the development of the department and team in the coming years.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset for decision-making.
• Over 15 years of practical experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations at the enterprise risk level.
• Capability to manage multiple clients concurrently while maintaining clear priorities without frequent escalation.
• Extensive knowledge of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) design and implementation, motor carrier vetting and onboarding, risk management and loss control, as well as contractual liability and exposure management.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Demonstrated experience in creating process frameworks and risk structures, rather than merely operating within existing ones.
• Located in the United States with work authorization and available to travel 15 to 20 percent for client visits and industry conferences.
• Comfortable working directly with clients and executives, possessing the credibility to drive change.
• Preferred: Certifications in logistics, transportation, or risk management.
• Direct experience managing real-world risk events, including:
• Ability to provide guidance and support to an underwriting team through operational and risk insights.
• Familiarity with logistics management systems, carrier databases, and standard data tools such as Excel or similar platforms, along with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
• Base salary: $240,000 to $280,000 annually.
