Head of Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Development and continuous enhancement of a company-wide quality management system focused on an effective structure for a tailored QMS in a rapidly growing scale-up.

• Leading the organization towards ISO-9001 certification as well as industry-specific certifications, such as GMP+, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, and/or ISO 22716.

• Defining process architecture, documentation standards, and governance structures in collaboration with the Quality team and cross-functional teams.

• Ensuring audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

• Enabling operational Quality Control and defining quality KPIs that are understood and utilized across the organization to drive continuous improvement.

• Creating and managing CoAs (Certificates of Analysis) and DoCs (Declarations of Conformity) in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.

• Strengthening quality as a trust and credibility factor with customers, internal teams, and partners.

• Enabling the team through standards, training, and clarity of systems.

• Leading the HACCP and Food Safety teams.

• Serving as a strategic partner for Operations, Sales, Engineering, and Product Development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Technical academic background (e.g., engineering, production, materials science, process engineering, or a comparable field).

• Leadership experience in the quality sector within an industrial production environment, such as in the polymer, biomaterials, cosmetics, and/or food industries.

• Ability to design processes that are robust enough for compliance yet streamlined enough to maintain speed.

• Willingness to work both strategically and operationally, especially in the first 12 months.

• Experience in building or transforming QMS structures.

• In-depth expertise in GMP+, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 22716, and/or ISO 9001 (auditor certification is an advantage).

• Solid understanding of production processes and industrial scaling.

• Experience in sustainability-driven, materials-based, or regulated industries is a strong plus.

• Systemic thinking and a structured, empowering leadership style.

• Fluent in German and English.
