Head of QA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Establish essential product quality metrics and develop a strategic QA roadmap spanning multiple quarters.

• Implement the established QA roadmap and ensure the team adheres to it.

• Systematically increase test coverage by prioritizing based on risk and customer impact rather than noise.

• Manage the test system infrastructure and formulate the resource strategy.

• Promote the use of AI tools throughout the QA function, covering areas from test generation to failure triage.

• Foster a team culture that emphasizes heavy usage of AI and automation.

• Revamp the on-duty rotation to ensure it is fair and sustainable.

• Guide SDETs in their evolution from "test writers" to "product quality engineers" who are responsible for subsystems from start to finish.

• Develop clear career advancement pathways within the QA department.

• Work closely with developers to translate quality indicators into actionable development priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in test automation, including at least 2 years in a leadership role managing a QA team of 3 or more engineers.

• Extensive experience in testing Linux-based products, including RPM/DEB packages, systemd, and a multi-distro matrix.

• Proficient in Python, as the entire test framework and tools are built using this language.

• Demonstrated success in significantly enhancing test reliability and coverage metrics.

• Experience in developing or integrating AI/ML into QA processes — practical examples of implemented work are required.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline architecture, specifically Jenkins Pipelines; an upcoming migration to GitLab CI is anticipated.

• Proficient in Linux CLI and shell scripting; comfort at the system level is necessary due to package environments.

• English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or higher.
