QA Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire testing lifecycle across various teams and projects, establishing and enforcing QA processes while standardizing tools, environments, and test coverage throughout the organization.

• Develop and continually enhance QA processes, procedures, and standards for testing products prior to their market release.

• Ensure a scalable testing infrastructure and expand our testing capabilities into advanced areas such as performance, security, and compliance testing.

• Identify systemic quality issues and cross-team risks, perform trend analysis on quality metrics, and foresee problems that may impact release stability or timelines.

• Assess and address organizational obstacles in QA workflows, balancing trade-offs and delivery schedules while maintaining stakeholder satisfaction.

• Provide executive-level QA insights—including reports, dashboards, and strategic recommendations—to the Head of QA and cross-functional leadership.

• Manage and mentor QA Leads and senior individual contributors, promoting career advancement, succession planning, and technical leadership within the QA organization.

• Allocate workload, establish goals for QA Leads and their teams, and conduct performance evaluations across the function.

• Foster ongoing performance assessment and enhancement of QA teams—resolving conflicts, supporting morale, and cultivating a culture of ownership, accountability, and excellence.

• Act as the champion for Agile testing and quality throughout the organization, raising quality awareness at every phase of the product lifecycle.

• Supervise QA engineers and Leads testing our products and implementing automation across cross-functional teams.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business analysts to define requirements and comprehensive testing strategies.

• Engage in reviews of software requirements, design documents, and system architecture to ensure testing needs are addressed early on.

• Manage and triage reported defects, ensuring visibility into how features delivered by different teams interact across subsystems.

• Continuously refine and enhance our testing infrastructure and automated/regression frameworks to guarantee reliability and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 8+ years of experience in software QA encompassing both manual and automated testing of web and API applications, including at least 2+ years of direct management of QA Leads, senior engineers, or a multi-team QA function.

• Experience in the insurance sector or a similarly regulated, complex industry is highly advantageous.

• Demonstrated success in establishing QA processes, tools, and standards organization-wide, not limited to a single team.

• Proficiency in executive-level reporting—adept at transforming quality metrics into insights and recommendations for senior management.

• In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes throughout the entire testing lifecycle.

• Experience in implementing and scaling automated testing frameworks in an agile environment, with a strong understanding of BDD and Gherkin.

• Hands-on experience with testing tools for JavaScript and .NET, such as Jest, Mocha, JMeter, Cypress, Selenium, Puppeteer, NUnit, Cucumber, Telerik, Specflow, or similar, and knowledge of integrating them with CI.

• Proficient in defect tracking and test management tools, with substantial experience in setting up QA processes and conducting structured performance reviews.

• Working knowledge of performance, security, and compliance testing areas.

• Practical experience in building and implementing AI-driven processes across teams or workflows.
